What signing up asks for

Signing up asks for your email, then your name, birthday, gender, postal code, whether you’re an international student, your school and your graduation year. An alternate email is optional. The official rules say a new account also asks you to “choose a password.”

You also agree to get emails from Student Life Network. You can unsubscribe any time, and it won’t affect your entry or your odds. Privacy policy

Extra entries

You get 1 entry for the grand prize and 10 entries for each extra prize you enter. Each prize is entered separately from your Student Life Network dashboard.

You can earn up to 14,000 extra entries by completing actions posted on the contest site.

Prefer not to do online actions? You can get all the extra entries by mailing a request the same way as a mail-in entry, with “Extra Entries” in the attention line.

Doubling your entries

You can double your entries once, up to 28,002 in total: with a CIBC banking product, or by mailing in a short essay. Conditions apply.

  • With a CIBC banking product, you say so on the contest site. RESP, TFSA and RRSP accounts don’t count.
  • A qualifying CIBC deposit account must be opened and funded with at least $1 during the contest, and stay in good standing. A qualifying CIBC credit card must be applied for and approved during the contest, and used for at least one purchase or payment during the contest.
  • CIBC is asked to confirm your product before any prize is awarded, and it must still be in good standing then. If it can’t be confirmed, you’re disqualified.
  • Without a CIBC product, mail a 50+ word essay about how $20,000 from CIBC helps students pay for school, with your name, email, phone number, mailing address and signature. Use its own envelope; it must be postmarked during the contest and arrive by June 7, 2027. The mailing details are in the official rules.
